Special Yin Yoga Workshop
Check back for new date!
Treat yourself to a very special and nurturing evening!
In this two hour workshop we will explore the deeply nourishing styles of Yin and restorative yoga. We hold the postures for up to 5 minutes - which gives time for lots of individual hands-on adjustments and alignment.
Suitable for almost all levels of students, Yin and restoratives sequences are the perfect complement to the dynamic and muscular (yang) styles of yoga that emphasize internal heat and intensity.
Restorative yoga is the optimum practice for the parasympathetic nervous system, which is responsible for balancing the body and bringing its response system back into equilibrium.
Yin Yoga directs the stimulation deeper than the superficial or muscular tissues (which we are calling the yang tissues). Yin Yoga targets the connective tissues, such as the ligaments, bones, and even the joints of the body that may not be fully released in a more active style of asana practice.
Lori has been practicing and teaching Yang styles of yoga for over 20 years. As a body work professional, she acknowledges the yin and restorative approaches as an essential balancing tool and gateway to the contemplative experience.
Please bring any personal blankets or bolsters you would like to have in the room.
Limited to 10 students.
