Gentle Hatha Yoga (60-75 minutes)
Refresh and Restore!
This class is for people who have been physically inactive,
recuperating from injury, or those who just want a slow-paced class.
The asanas will be devoted to increasing flexibility, strengthening,
and toning the body. Extra emphasis will be given to a yogic deep
relaxation. Pranayama (breathing exercises) will follow, with a
brief meditation to quiet the mind. If you are new to yoga and would
just like to try a class, join us this week.
Hatha for Beginners (1 hour 15-30 minutes)
This class is for students interested in the traditional hatha yoga
class. A comprehensive, balanced class, with a steady flow,
relaxation between asanas, and guided instruction throughout. Hatha
was designed to promote a healthy body and peaceful mind, through
the practice of three main components: asanas (poses), pranayama
(breathing practices), and meditation (concentration).
Mixed Level Hatha (1 hour 15-30 minutes)
Mixed Level classes are suitable for any level. Many variations and
options for the poses will be offered, so that each person can find
that which feels steady and comfortable. Students are encouraged to
listen to and honor the messages of the body and mind to determine
which variation is most appropriate for them in that moment.
Hatha Flow (1 hour 15-30 minutes)
This class is for students that are definitely comfortable in the
Beginner's classes, and are ready for more of a flow. A flow can be
slow, or a little faster to link poses together to create a flow
sequence. Less instruction is expected, with more emphasis on fine
tuning, concentrations, and breath, so students can experience the
deeper subtleties of the asanas they have been practicing in the
Beginner's classes. New asanas will be introduced, and others will
be held longer to deepen the experience.
Meditation (60 minutes)
These Meditation sittings are intended to bring those seeking to
develop a meditation practice together with those who are more
experienced in the practice of meditation. Develop an understanding
of what meditation is and how it can reduce stress, improve mental
clarity, and promote health. Learn and practice techniques to quiet
the mind, then share your experiences with others. (By donation) |
